GLSEN’s Day of Silence, this year on Friday, April 27, is a student-led national event where folks take a vow of silence to highlight the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ people at school. For more information about the Day of Silence or to register your GSA, visit the GLSEN website.

This year, the Center is teaming up with the Woodstock Day School LGBTQ Club to throw the first-ever QueerCon, a regional conference for GSA’s and LGBTQ and allied youth. The event will include workshops, panels, speakers, and other opportunities for students to build community and take action. To register, please click this link.

As the day comes to a close, we celebrate our resiliency at the Breaking the Silence Dance! There will be DJs, dancing, a photo booth, drinks and food! All LGBTQ and allied teens are welcome! RSVPs are encouraged; call 845-331-5300 or email f.brenner@lgbtqcenter.org to let us know you’ll be there. This event is co-sponsored by the Kingston High School GSA Club.
