PFLAG Kingston

Description: PFLAG, formerly known as Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, is the United States’ largest organization for parents, families, friends, and allies united with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ).

Rainbow Kids

Description: A play and craft group for transgender and gender nonconforming children and their siblings (ages 5–12 years). Knowledgeable community volunteers provide craft activities; $20 materials donation per family. Supportive parents and caregivers meet in a separate room for a discussion facilitated by parents of trans children.

Calendar: meets on the first Sunday of the month, 4–5:30 p.m.

Refuge Recovery

Meets Tuesdays, 7-8:30pm, in the Library.

Refuge Recovery is a non-theistic, Buddhist-inspired approach to recovery from addictions of all kinds. We are a community of people dedicated to the practices of mindfulness, compassion, forgiveness, and generosity, using meditation and kindness to heal the pain and suffering that addiction has caused in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

Our weekly peer-led meetings include guided meditations, readings from the book Refuge Recovery, and group sharing and discussion.

Open to people of all backgrounds and respectful of all recovery paths, these meetings are appropriate for anyone in, or interested in, recovery from any forms of addictive behavior. No
prior meditation experience necessary. Always free; donations to the Center are welcome.

Solidarity Thursday

Join us at the Beverly during the pop-up queer bar “Pansy Club” for a political action night. The Center will provide discussion, materials, and tips on how to take action for LGBTQ justice.
