Our Code of Conduct applies to all staff, group facilitators, volunteers, and participants at our on-site, off-site, and virtual programs, events, and counseling sessions. To learn more, click here.

All group facilitators attend mandatory orientation sessions, such as LGBTQ+ Inclusivity and Anti-Bias/Diversity Equity and Inclusion Training.

Transforming Parents

Tuesdays, 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Virtual: Zoom

A counselor facilitated psychoeducational support and discussion group for parents of transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary youth and adult children.

This group is a safe and supportive space to learn about transgender experience and process your feelings around your child’s gender identity, transition, affirmation process.

A place where all queer parents and children’s caregivers feel welcome and supported. We will engage in discussions about our unique experiences and challenges as LGBTQ+ parental figures, and create a safe and judgment free environment to exchange ideas.

Melissa Zola (she/her) identifies as a lesbian and lives in Kingston with her wife Marlene, son Dario, and their tuxedo cat Lucy. Melissa is passionate about social justice and building safe spaces where all people are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. She is the facilitator for our new QFam group, for queer parents and caregivers to come together.
