June Pride

May 30, 2023

As we step into the vibrant month of June, we are thrilled to invite you to join us in celebrating Pride Month. This annual commemoration holds a significant place in LGBTQ+ history, as it honors the courage, resilience, and accomplishments of the community while advocating for a more inclusive and equal society.

Pride Month traces its roots back to the Stonewall Uprising, a pivotal event in LGBTQ+ history that occurred in June 1969. This uprising, led by transgender women of color and other queer activists, sparked a global movement for LGBTQ+ rights. Since then, June has become a time for communities across the world to come together, celebrate diversity, and advocate for equality.

For those who may be unfamiliar, the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center is a beacon of support, education, and empowerment for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies throughout the Hudson Valley region. Our mission is to create safe and affirming spaces where people can find resources, connect with like-minded individuals, and embrace their authentic selves.

This year, the Center has curated an incredible lineup of events, activities, and programs to honor the spirit of Pride Month. Click here to visit our online calendar for a complete listing of our June events and programs.
