Hudson Valley-based true storytelling organization TMI Project presents its annual benefit and storytelling showcase Voices in Action on Saturday, September 29th at BSP in Kingston, NY. Guests will enjoy true confessions from young storytellers, DJ Ali spinning tunes, drag queens and kings breathing colorful life into the room, cocktails and more. The yearly fundraiser will include a pre-show cocktail hour, which will include a mobile TMI Confessional Booth where event goers can record their own stories and secrets, as well as live storytelling performances by young writers from some of TMI Project’s recent productions. The performance will be followed by an awards ceremony honoring Academy Award-winner James Lecesne, as well as three Hudson Valley leaders as TMI Project Agents of Change: Amy Kapes, Kingston High School social worker; Kale Kaposhilin, technical director of Radio Kingston; and Odell Winfield, director of The Library at the A.J. Williams-Myers African Roots Center. For tickets and more info, visit www.tmiproject.org/voicesinaction.
