Rainbow Lounge—the Senior/Adult Meet-up

2nd & 4th Thursdays 6:30-8pm

Please join us for a “hip,” new Senior/“Adulting” group for 50+ gathering every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30-8pm. In partnership with SAGE, this group is primarily a place to relax and share ourselves with others, and will pursue topics such as the relevance of identifying as LGBTQIA+ in our lives; benefits of growing older; our adult reality as different from our younger expectations; sex; ageism, against both old and young; health; being a mentor; growing older with grace; and nurturing our relationships. Further, as a group with rich experience, we can anticipate that there will be no lack of topics of interest that will be generated as we move forward. Let’s enjoy our time together!
Feel free to come participate in the Queer Community PotLuck at the center’s Open Doors which begins at 5pm, before our group meeting, for some great food and conversation as well!

Your Facilitator:

Michael Erp (he/him) is a self-identified gay man of nearly 50 years. Happily married for 8+ years to minister Kyle Applegate, Michael lives in the town of Olive and travels back and forth to NYC to spend time with his husband. He holds a Master of Arts degree from the New School for Social Research and has taught writing, literature, speech and theatre at over a half dozen colleges, including NYU and Marist. His last full-time position was as an administrator for Marist College at the Fishkill Correctional Facility where he worked under the Higher Education Opportunity Program. Kyle and Mike were thrilled to marry on the upper deck of Kingston’s “Rip Van Winkle”tourist boat as the people on the lower deck were able to watch and listen on the big screen! “We love Kingston and are thrilled to see it flourishing.”
