Women’s Empowerment Circle
2nd & 4th Saturdays 12-1:30pm*
FREE to Women (meaning all woman-identified) ages 18-80+! Join us the 2nd & 4th Saturdays* from 12-1:30pm at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, 300 Wall Street Kingston beginning July 9th. Please arrive on time or 5-10 minutes early. How it works:
- Brief Centering exercise (meditation/visualization)
- “Defreeze” quick check in
- Pass the basket or nest (like a talking stick to check in)
- Topic/activity for the session
- Group time to work through the activity
- Closing circle
- Check out (closing exercise)
Amy Summers (® Transformations Workshops 2022), Program Director for Raising HOPE Women’s Mentoring Program, formerly led a Big Brothers, Big Sisters program in Western MA. Amy resided and taught at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, after which she resided and taught at Centro Creativo in Costa Rica. Amy has designed and facilitated classes at universities & retreat centers and owned & operated Transformations Workshops and Gallery in Amherst MA. She was the Creative Programs Director for a Montessori school in Northampton MA where she also taught theater at the People’s Institute. Amy founded Aquoga®, Aquatic Yoga & Meditation classes and continues to teach Aquoga ® in the Hudson Valley. She holds an advanced degree in Women’s Studies, graduated from Ulster Leadership Institute and is a Board member for New Start for Women at SUNY Ulster. She has led women’s empowerment workshops for 25 years. Amy resides in Rosendale with her partner Drebra, their son Laszlo, their dog Sonic and cats Aiko & Jai.
