Well-Being Institute logo

Welcome to one of Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center’s (The Center) newest programs, the LGBTQ Well-Being Institute. The LGBTQ Well-Being Institute at The Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive, holistic wellness programming that affirms and uplifts all members of the LGBTQ community.  The Institute is committed to removing barriers to wellness experienced primarily by the most marginalized and vulnerable members of our community. The Institute’s work includes no-cost, culturally-responsive, short-term individual and group counseling along with a wide range of educational and wellness services to support individuals in living healthy and fulfilling lives.

The LGBTQ Well-Being Institute offers:

Professional Counseling Services:
  • Short-term Counseling Services are available for Individuals and Couples looking to engage with a Licensed Mental Health Professional. Counseling begins with an intake appointment to chart the course of counseling, and sessions are scheduled to run for 45 minutes. All counseling work will conclude with a plan to address any outstanding or on-going needs.

  • Group counseling is available for individuals looking for a safe place to find reliable information, a community of other people who understand your needs, and professional support in dealing with emotional, interpersonal and mental health issues. Our counseling groups are different than other groups listed below, in that they are groups facilitated by a Licensed Counselor who provides a clinical perspective.

  • Crisis Interventions is available on an as needed basis for individuals who are faced with an overwhelming or challenging situation, and need advice or a listening ear from a Counselor who can provide options, perspective, and resources.

  • Case Management support is available and includes information, education and community referrals.
