Phoenix comes to us from Centereach, Long Island after coming out as queer at 14. He began transitioning when he was 19 after moving to New Paltz in 2020. Hudson Valley Pride 2021 was the first time he felt a sense of community and a strong desire to work at the Community Center. He was hired as a Group Facilitator in 2022 and fell in love with gathering people, giving them safe spaces, and expanding young people’s social lives beyond the internet.

Phoenix lives with his cats, Pumpkin and Pickle. His hobbies include cats, cats, roller derby, and cats. He is also a visual artist and a band member of the Unicorn Bar Brass Band, where he plays tenor sax. As Program Specialist he runs the Open Mic Drag Nights and the Early Gen Z Queer Hangout, among his many duties!
